Top choice for reliability and efficiency
2008-05-30 13:40:00
Shown for the first time at the Communications Forum at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire, ITT Water & Wastewater, highlights how it continues to lead the field with a new range of high-performing, pre-fabricated package pumping stations from its Flygt product range.

TOP illustrationThese stations are designed to provide easy to install, efficient and reliable solutions for the removal of sewage and surface water in any situation where water needs to be pumped to a mains connection. All stations come complete with pipework, valves, access covers, control panels and pumps ready to install.

The flagship of the range is the Flygt TOP pumping station manufactured from heavy duty Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) and designed to be totally flexible with tank depths between 2 - 6m, capable of delivering flows of 4 – 95 l/sec and able to accommodate pumps up to 22kW in size. It is designed to fully meet the storage requirements of building regulations and can be bespoke manufactured to meet Water Company adoptable standards.

The station features a ‘patented’ unique self-cleaning benching unit which has been proven through many years use by water companies in concrete stations, to reduce the possibility of solids settling out in the station thus preventing costly maintenance and the chance of nauseous odours occurring. The design consists of a hydraulically optimised sump floor which increases water turbulence during the pumping cycle allowing solids to be easily removed from the station. When combined with the patented Flygt Flush Valve this provides the ultimate in low maintenance pumping.

CompitThe other Flygt packaged pumping stations in the range are designed to provide more standardised solutions in areas with smaller pumping requirements. These include the New Compit and Micro pumping stations.

Designed to transport surface and wastewater the New Compit is a roto-moulded station in robust polyethylene. It is available as a single or dual-pump system with all internal pipework, check valve, shut-off valve, a stainless steel lifting chain, control panel, Flygt ENM10 float switches and access cover delivered as standard. The outlet is DN50 as standard and is therefore suitable for flows up to 9 l/s and lends itself for use with the Flygt range of macerator pumps for domestic sewage.
The range is completed by the new Micro pumping station. They are the smallest units available from Flygt, and are available for indoor use or below ground options. The stations are all designed to EN12050 and are ideal for pumping domestic wastewater or grey water from small buildings or extensions to properties.

Steve Gilbert, Product Manager for ITT Water & Wastewater said: “We are confident this range of packaged pump systems offers the best solution in almost any regulatory environment. As part of our service policy we also provide full NIC EIC Certified commissioning and after-sales support including preventative maintenance contracts and refurbishment when required.”
